Home Tour - Christmas 2014

Hello everyone!

I'm so happy to share these pictures with you today. This is officially the first Home Tour I make of our apartment! Yay! As you know, we moved into a new place a couple of months ago; and unpacking and decorating the space for the first time can be a BIG challenge. Suddenly, it was the Holiday Season and obviously I wanted to enjoy it properly. So, no time for doubts or elaborated ideas. I wanted to have a basic layout - which is definitely going to change from time to time - defined spaces and room for entertaining and enjoying the winter.

And here it is! Take a look at our house looking all Christmasy and cute :)

These are all pieces that we brought with us. I like to take my time when getting new furniture. Already have a general idea of some basic changes - like getting rid of this brown couch and replacing the coffee table - but I'll take my time to find the perfect ones for the space.

Oh! Meet owl - the star of Christmas 2014!

Our dining area is small and functional. It is next to the open kitchen and the bar, so it becomes our guests' favorite spot. Everyone wants to be around the food and drinks, right?

Our bar cabinet found its perfect spot against this dark wall. Having our favorite whisky displayed and ready to enjoy is such a treat when coming home after a long day at work. Also, the hubby's favorite art piece makes this space look a bit masculine. I LOVE how this DC map looks in here; and that surface is one of my favorites to style.

Christmas touch --> Poinsettias and Candy Canes!

Our second bedroom is a mix of a guest room and my studio. Remember the pictures of my desk I posted last week? Well, it changed. A lot!

We finally got a sofa bed, so I moved the bookcases to its sides to create more balance. I love symmetry! Also, that rug is like my favorite thing in the world! Don't you love it?? I promise to post a complete before and after very soon so you can see the complete transformation.

I like my Holiday decor to be subtle and camouflage with other accessories. So, no snowmen for us, or and explosion of red accessories. I prefer to add some simple touches that I can easily peel off when the season is over.

In here, I hanged a simple wreath with burlap, added candy, candles and more poinsettias because they are awesome!

Christmas lights? OBVIOUSLY! They look fab in here and will make a nice photo background during our holiday gatherings - I totally stole this idea from my friends in Lima who always use them at their parties :) (Holaaaa!!)

What do you think? I'm very proud of myself for having completely unpacked and decorated the house in less than 5 months! Phewwww! Tons of work, and much more to be done. Decoration is never over! <3

Thanks so much for passing by and leave your comments! I LOVE hearing from you. Seriously. It's so amazing when we connect and share ideas. So, keep in touch! Visit my Instagram or Facebook page or send me a note :) I'm a friend. Let's go for coffee.

Happy Holidays, y'all! Besos!
